Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Therapy
One of the first steps in therapy for individuals on the autism spectrum is fostering a sense of understanding and acceptance. Therapy provides a safe space where you can explore your identity and experiences without judgment. By discussing your feelings and perspectives, we can work together to build self-acceptance and a positive self-image, which are crucial for personal growth.
Many individuals on the autism spectrum experience heightened levels of anxiety and sensory sensitivities. Therapy offers strategies to manage these feelings, helping you to identify triggers and develop coping mechanisms. I offer specialist counselling for people on the spectrum to build self-confidence and a positive self-image.
How Does Therapy Work
When you reach out for therapy, we will begin with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This initial call allows us to discuss your concerns and therapy goals, as well as providing you with space to ask any questions about my approach. From there, we can schedule your first session. I believe that engaging in therapy is a commitment to your mental health and personal growth. I aim to provide a confidential, supportive, and empathetic atmosphere for you to explore your issues. Your active participation and openness will enhance the effectiveness of our sessions, making our collaboration vital to your journey.
If you feel unsafe or at risk, please call 999 or go to your nearest hospital's accident and emergency department.
